DIRECTOR of E-COMMERCE
A fast-growing, Los Angeles-based direct-to-consumer brand known for its refined accessories is seeking a strategic and hands-on leader to oversee its digital commerce function. With a strong foundation in thoughtful design and community-driven brand values, the company is entering an exciting growth phase and looking for someone to take its online business to the next level.
The Director of Digital Commerce will own the strategy and day-to-day execution of the brand’s e-commerce presence, with a focus on revenue growth, site optimization, and long-term customer value. This individual should be both technically savvy and data-driven, with a sharp eye for user experience and a collaborative approach to leadership.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Build and execute an integrated digital commerce strategy that supports growth across customer acquisition, retention, and revenue.
Oversee and manage all aspects of the e-commerce platform to ensure reliability, scalability, and a seamless customer experience.
Work closely with development partners to support technical enhancements, third-party integrations, and ongoing maintenance.
Continuously optimize site speed, functionality, mobile performance, and security.
Evaluate and improve the customer journey through testing and analysis, with a focus on increasing conversion and engagement.
Use performance data to identify key areas of opportunity and create clear, actionable roadmaps.
Partner closely with marketing to support product launches, campaigns, and retention efforts through email and CRM strategies.
Lead and manage a small team, including external partners and agencies, while exploring the potential to bring key functions in-house.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree a plus.
5+ years of e-commerce experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
Strong experience working within platforms like Shopify Plus and tools such as Klaviyo, Google Analytics, and Triple Whale.
Demonstrated experience with APIs, website optimization, and performance tracking.
Comfortable in a fast-paced, lean environment and confident leading both strategy and execution.
Previous experience in direct-to-consumer brands within fashion, beauty, or lifestyle is strongly preferred.
Excellent communication skills and a track record of working cross-functionally.
