1st-Production Patternmaker

A high-end luxury ready-to-wear brand is seeking an experienced First to Production Patternmaker to join its team. This is a hands-on role for someone who can translate a designer’s sketch into a well-executed first pattern, lead the fit process, and carry approved styles through to production.
The ideal candidate has a strong technical foundation, an exceptional eye for proportion and garment construction, and enjoys collaborating closely with Design, Technical Design, Production, and sample operators.
In office Monday - Friday
RESPONSIBILITES
Partner with the Design team to interpret sketches and bring concepts to life through first patterns.
Create first patterns by hand and/or using Gerber software.
Attend and actively participate in fit sessions; fit samples on models alongside the Design and Technical teams.
Make pattern corrections and revisions based on fit comments, design direction, and construction needs.
Follow approved fit changes through final production, ensuring patterns are accurate and consistent throughout development.
Collaborate with sample operators to communicate pattern intent, construction details, and revisions.
Troubleshoot fit and construction issues with a solution-oriented, detail-focused approach.
Maintain accuracy, organization, and quality across all patterns and related development materials.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 5 years of patternmaking experience within luxury, contemporary, or high-end ready-to-wear.
Strong knowledge of garment construction, fit, pattern corrections, and production processes.
Ability to create first patterns by hand and/or in Gerber.
Experience fitting samples on live models and translating fit feedback into precise pattern revisions.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
Collaborative communicator who works well with designers, technical designers, production teams, and sample operators
