Handbag Designer - Off Price & Factory

We're partnering with a large global fashion company to identify a Handbag Designer to support a fast-growing and highly visible handbags business.
The handbag designer will focus specifically for outlet, factory, and off-price channels, including major retailers such as TJ Maxx, Ross, Burlington, and a large network of company-owned factory stores. Rather than relying on excess inventory, this team creates product intentionally designed for these customers and channels from the ground up.
This is an opportunity to design product that reaches millions of consumers annually while owning significant volume across multiple classifications and seasons.

REQUIREMENTS
Design women's handbags across outlet, factory, and off-price channels.
Lead product from concept through development and production.
Create original concepts, sketches, color stories, and seasonal direction.
Build detailed tech packs and communicate daily with overseas factory partners.
Source materials, trims, hardware, and construction techniques that support both design and cost objectives.
Partner closely with merchandising, sourcing, product development, and production teams.
Review samples and prototypes, providing detailed feedback on construction, materials, functionality, and aesthetics.
Design with a strong understanding of cost targets, margin goals, and customer expectations.
Participate in buyer presentations and product reviews.
Manage multiple seasons and deliveries simultaneously while meeting aggressive deadlines.
REQUIREMENTS
3- 5 years of handbag design experience minimum of 1 year in a current designer role.
Strong understanding of handbag construction, materials, hardware, and development.
Experience creating tech packs and managing product through the full development lifecycle.
Strong Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Experience working directly with overseas factories.
