Assistant Soft Wovens Designer

An emerging women’s contemporary fashion brand is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Designer to support the soft wovens design team. This role will assist with seasonal design development, research, and the creation of sketches and technical materials that help bring the collection to life. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and eager to learn within a fast-paced, collaborative design environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a junior designer to gain hands-on experience while contributing to the creative process from concept through development. Must be strong with hand sketching.
This is a full-time, in-office position within a fast-paced and creative apparel environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the development of seasonal women’s woven apparel collections
Create hand sketches and technical design sketches to support the design process
Conduct trend research, fabric inspiration, and concept exploration
Help prepare design boards, presentations, and development materials
Support designers throughout the product development process
Maintain organized design files and materials
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timelines are met
Assist with multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail
REQUIREMENTS
Strong hand sketching ability with a confident fashion design aesthetic
Interest or experience in women’s woven apparel
Ability to assist with trend research and seasonal concept development
Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced fashion design environment
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Genuine passion for fashion design and apparel development
