A leading fashion design house is expanding its creative team with the addition of a Senior Denim Designer specializing in women’s and juniors’ categories. This position offers the opportunity to design for a dynamic mix of national retail programs and branded collections, shaping denim lines that balance trend, fit, and commercial appeal.
The ideal candidate is a true denim expert skilled at transforming market trends into styles that resonate with mass consumers while maintaining a strong design identity. You’ll work hands-on from concept through production, collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring high-quality, on-trend denim to life.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the design and development of women’s and juniors’ denim assortments from concept boards to production-ready lines.
Design for major private-label retailers and branded denim programs, ensuring collections align with price point, fit, and margin goals.
Research and interpret denim trends, creating commercially viable collections that drive sell-through.
Develop fabrics, washes, finishes, and trims in partnership with vendors to achieve the right look and feel.
Build precise, detailed tech packs and oversee the sampling process to ensure design integrity through production.
Partner closely with technical design, production, and merchandising to maintain timelines and product consistency.
Support fittings and revisions while ensuring each garment meets quality and brand standards.
Manage multiple seasonal calendars while maintaining creative excellence and operational efficiency.
Travel as necessary for vendor collaboration and market inspiration.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 8 years of denim design experience (denim expertise required).
Proven experience designing for private label mass retailers; Walmart or Sam’s Club experience preferred.
Strong background in branded denim with the ability to adapt to various brand aesthetics.
Deep knowledge of denim fabrications, wash processes, and construction techniques.
Ability to merge creativity with commercial needs—designing for volume, price, and margin goals.
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, PLM systems, and tech pack creation.
Exceptional communication, time management, and cross-team collaboration skills.
Highly organized, flexible, and comfortable juggling multiple programs at once.
