Director of Merchandising (Denim & RTW)

 A rapidly scaling contemporary fashion brand is redefining how denim and ready-to-wear connect with today’s consumer. Rooted in LA creativity and backed by an agile, cross-functional team, the brand delivers trend-relevant product at the speed of culture—across direct-to-consumer, wholesale, and private label verticals.

We’re searching for a senior merchandising leader can create and execute product strategy across denim and RTW. This role blends strategic vision with hands-on execution, owning the architecture of seasonal assortments and driving product storytelling that resonates. This is a key leadership opportunity for someone with a sharp aesthetic eye, commercial instincts, and the ability to turn data and creativity into cohesive, profitable assortments.

IN office Monday - Friday and this is Not Negotiable 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Own the end-to-end seasonal merchandising plan across channels—DTC, wholesale, and private label—aligned with brand ethos and revenue targets.

  • Collaborate closely with Design and Planning to build trend-right, margin-optimized assortments that balance innovation with sales potential.

  • Spearhead the development of emerging categories and capsule collections and identifying white space and defining launch strategy.

  • Lead analysis of product performance, trend forecasting, and market insights to drive actionable product strategies.

  • Oversee the entire product journey from concept to delivery, ensuring deadlines, pricing strategy, and profitability targets are met.

  • Act as the merchandising lead across departments, facilitating alignment with Sales, Production, and Marketing.

  • Guide and develop merchandising talent, implementing tools, best practices, and frameworks to elevate performance.

  • Deliver clear seasonal narratives, ensure merchandising tools are accurate, and support wholesale sell-in efforts.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 7–10 years of experience in merchandising, preferably in premium denim, contemporary apparel, or lifestyle brands

  • Strong background in both DTC and wholesale merchandising strategy

  • Confident translating trends into commercially viable assortments

  • Able to be in office 5 days a week

  • Excited to build a team in the long run

  • Analytical, creative, and resourceful—with a passion for both the art and science of product

  • Experienced leading merchandising teams and managing cross-functional partnerships

  • Strong presentation skills and a sharp understanding of the customer journey

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
